The start of May means one thing here at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®: it’s officially National Moving Month!
With National Moving Month comes the start of the busy moving season, and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchises all over the country have been preparing to move even more customers forward than ever before. If you have a move coming up this summer, be sure to give your local TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise a call and see how they can help make it a breeze!
Preparing for a home move can be an exciting but stressful time, as there is plenty of planning, organizing, and decision making involved with the moving process. Whether it’s figuring out how and what to pack or how much a move costs, plenty of areas can get overlooked, including one very important detail: what moving companies can’t move.
While we’re known for what we can move, it’s very important to know what we cannot handle so you aren’t met with an unexpected hurdle on moving day.
Follow along and learn what we can’t move so you’re as ready as possible!
Anything living
Let’s start with a basic one: we can’t move anything living like pets or animals. This is primarily for their safety, as it’s not safe for either to be placed in the back of a moving truck due to extreme heat and shifting of items.

Medication and prescription drugs
For precautionary reasons, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK can’t move or transport any medications. The reason is to avoid any emergency situations where a customer may need these but not have access to them while they’re packed away on the moving truck during transport. Always pack these items separately from what’s being moved to ensure you have them readily available.
Gas or machine items
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is unable to move anything containing gasoline. Items such as a grills, smokers, tractors, or lawn mowers need to be emptied of all gasoline if they’re going to be loaded onto the truck. To ensure a smooth moving day, please talk with your move consultant so you’re both on the same page about this type of item being moved.
Flammable items
This may seem obvious, but it’s still worth mentioning, as it’s a federal law. Antifreeze, car batteries, ammunition, propane, paint, household cleaners, or weed killer cannot be transported in our moving trucks.
Sentimental items
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK does not move cash, insurance papers, birth certificates, jewelry, or other sentimental items. This prevents anything important from getting misplaced or damaged and will save you a headache down the road should something happen.
For more information on what items your franchise location can and cannot move, contact your local TWO MEN AND TRUCK location and they’ll be happy to assist you with any questions.
