Moving can be a daunting task, especially when it involves delicate items like a Flatscreen TV. But don’t worry, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is here to help! This guide will walk you through the process of moving a TV to your new home. Let’s get started!
What You Need
- Flat-screen TV Box
This is a box specifically designed to protect your TV during the move. It’s best to use the original box your TV came in.
- Bubble Wrap or Moving Blankets
You’ll need this to wrap your TV and protect it from scratches and impacts. Make sure to cover the entire TV, especially the screen and corners
- Packing Tape
This is used to secure the bubble wrap around the TV and seal the box once the TV is inside.
- Ratchet Straps
To secure the Flatscreen in the truck while in transport.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prepare Your TV for Moving
Gather necessary materials and pack your TV so that it can be moved. For tips on how to pack your flatscreen, go here.
- Plan Your Path
Before lifting the TV, plan out your move. Make sure the path is clear of obstacles and your Television with fit through all doorways and halls.
- Lift Correctly
When you’re ready to move, remember to lift with your legs, not your back. Flatscreen TVs can be heavier than they appear, and you don’t want to risk injury.
- Keep it Upright
Always keep your TV upright. Laying your TV flat can cause damage.
- Secure In The Truck
When placing the TV in the moving truck, ensure it’s secure and won’t move during transit. It’s best to place it between sturdy items that can provide additional support. If your moving truck has an attic, place the TV up there and place items up against it, then secure with a ratchet strap so nothing falls back during transit.
- Unpack with Care
Once you’ve reached your destination, carefully remove the TV from the box and unwrap it. Check for any signs of damage before setting it up.
